Wheelchair User Fatally Struck on Fruitridge Road in Sacramento Collision

SACRAMENTO, CA — A tragic incident unfolded early Tuesday morning on Sacramento’s Fruitridge Road when a man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a pickup truck. The accident occurred around 4:00 a.m., between Laurine Way and Lawrence Drive.

Authorities arrived at the scene to find the pedestrian had sustained fatal injuries from the collision. The driver of the pickup truck was questioned, and an investigation into the crash is ongoing. The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The section of Fruitridge Road where the crash occurred was closed for several hours as police conducted their onsite investigation, leading to minor traffic delays. Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
