SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (May 28, 2024) — An accident involving a school bus and a vehicle that failed to obey a stop sign occurred Friday morning, resulting in injuries to a student. The collision took place around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Sacramento Avenue and Merced Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol South Lake Tahoe Division reported that the other driver collided with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District bus. Emergency responders, including CHP and medical teams, arrived at the scene and transported one student with minor injuries, along with the driver, to the hospital for treatment. The school bus was carrying over a dozen students, but thankfully, injuries were limited to one student.
No arrests have been made, but the accident remains under investigation. Authorities have not released any further information regarding the cause of the crash.
