Sacramento, CA (May 23, 2024) – Early Thursday morning, a major traffic incident unfolded on Business 80 near the E Street on-ramp. At approximately 6:16 AM, authorities received reports of a vehicle collision involving a car that first made contact with the central divide, then continued to strike a tree off the roadway. The impact resulted in the entrapment of both the driver and the passenger within the vehicle.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, and upon arrival, officials had to perform extraction procedures to free the trapped individuals – a male and a female. Subsequent to their liberation from the wreckage, both occupants received immediate medical attention and were then transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation and treatment of their injuries.
As of the current update, investigators are thoroughly examining the circumstances surrounding the cause of the collision.
