NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. — A serious motor vehicle collision in North Highlands, Sacramento County, left three individuals hospitalized on Wednesday night. The incident, involving a vehicle operated by minors, occurred near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Jackson Street around 8 p.m.

Authorities reported that the juveniles’ car entered the crossroad against a red traffic signal on Jackson Street and collided with another vehicle. The impact was severe enough to send the car careening into a second vehicle. Following the collision, the minors drove to a parking lot in proximity, where they eventually stopped.

In the aftermath of the harrowing encounter, a woman from one of the struck vehicles sustained a broken leg. One of the youthful drivers also suffered a leg fracture. Emergency response teams from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District transported three victims to a medical facility for treatment, though details regarding all parties involved remained undisclosed.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the vehicle in question contained three individuals under the legal driving age. In the wake of the incident, two remained at the crash site, while the third absconded. Continuous inquiries by law enforcement are underway, and early indications suggest the vehicle was not stolen.

The authorities are calling for witnesses and are gathering further evidence to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this disquieting event. Meanwhile, the community is urged to approach this junction with caution.
