A severe motor vehicle collision occurred in Sacramento County this morning, leading to the closure of sections of the roadway and the hospitalization of three individuals.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported to the scene at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Sun Center Drive at approximately 11:20 AM after receiving calls concerning the accident. The collision, which involved two vehicles, resulted in at least one of the cars rolling over. Emergency services acted promptly to assess the situation and attend to the injured occupants.
By 12:30 PM, authorities had shut down the southbound lanes of Sunrise Avenue to facilitate rescue operations and an initial investigation into the crash. Motorists in the area have been advised to seek alternative routes as no timeframe has been provided for when the lanes will be reopened.
The victims, whose identities have not been disclosed, were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Their conditions are currently unknown.
