Multi-Vehicle Collision in Sacramento County Leads to Fiery Incident

Car accident in Sacramento

A catastrophic multi-vehicle collision in Sacramento County led to a car being engulfed in flames near the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Gold Country Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported on Thursday. The accident, which occurred approximately a mile south of Fair Oaks around 4 p.m., involved a Lexus SUV, a Nissan Altima, and a Kia.

According to the CHP, the crash unfolded when a woman driving the Lexus SUV westbound on Gold Country Boulevard failed to yield at a red light as she turned onto Sunrise Boulevard. Concurrently, the driver of the Nissan Altima was heading north on Sunrise Boulevard with a green light when the Lexus intersected its path.

The impact sent the Nissan veering left, where it collided with the Kia traveling in the opposite direction. The Nissan subsequently erupted into flames. CHP officials stated that the Nissan driver, despite the vehicle being completely ablaze, managed to escape with only minor injuries.
