In a multi-county incident, one person has been hospitalized and another detained following a series of events that began with a rear-end collision in Sacramento County, California.
The incident unfolded just after 6 p.m. on northbound Walerga Road near North Loop Boulevard when, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), one vehicle struck the rear of another. In an attempt to address the situation, the driver of the first car tried to signal the second driver to pull over.
In a surprising turn of events, a third motorist stopped and approached the second driver. This confrontation, however, did not resolve the situation, as the second driver chose to flee the scene, unfortunately causing the third driver to become entrapped on the vehicle.
The CHP detailed that the fleeing driver continued traveling northward on Walerga Road, eventually colliding with the center median and subsequently veering into a ditch near PFE Road.
The driver responsible for the initial rear-end collision faced immediate legal consequences, being cited and released on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and engaging in a hit-and-run incident in Sacramento County. Subsequently, the individual was arrested and taken to the Placer County Jail, facing assault charges.
