Hit-and-Run Incident in Sacramento Results in Cyclist Fatality; Driver Detained

In a tragic incident in Sacramento, California, a 55-year-old female bicyclist was struck and fatally injured by a motorist who then fled the scene. The collision occurred at the intersection of 21st and X streets around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon emergency services’ rapid response, the critically injured woman was promptly transported to a local hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

The Sacramento Police Department’s investigation led them to the location of the suspect’s vehicle a day later, on Wednesday, around 9 a.m. They found the vehicle on 19th and Broadway, not far from the original site of the deadly incident. The authorities detained the vehicle’s driver, 63-year-old Payton Glynn, who has since been arrested.

The police have disclosed that Glynn is facing charges for felony hit-and-run and manslaughter in connection with the accident.
