Highway 99 Pedestrian Fatality: Authorities Seek Witnesses to Sacramento Accident

SACRAMENTO, CA – Officials are making an appeal to the public for information following a fatal multi-car collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Highway 99 in Sacramento early Saturday morning.

The tragic incident, which occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Fruitridge Road, involved three vehicles. According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicles included a 2013 Honda, a 2009 Toyota with a 22-year-old driver from Elk Grove, and a 2013 Toyota piloted by a 64-year-old individual from Grass Valley.

The crash did not result in injuries to the motorists, and no arrests were made at the crash site. Tragically, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. As of now, the CHP has not released the identity of the pedestrian pending notification of next of kin.

The California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office is actively investigating the circumstances of the collision and the sequence of events that led to the pedestrian’s death. As part of this investigation, the CHP is looking for eyewitnesses who may have seen the pedestrian on the freeway prior to the accident.
