SACRAMENTO, CA (May 10, 2024) — A deadly collision involving three vehicles occurred at the intersection of Elverta Road and Dominion Way in Sacramento, resulting in one fatality and subsequent DUI charges for one of the involved drivers.
The incident was reported to have taken place on May 7 at around 9:20 p.m. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and determined that the sequence of events began when a Ford Ranger collided with a stationary Ram 1500 on Elverta Road’s westbound side. The impact forced the Ram into oncoming traffic where it was hit by an eastbound Ford F-150.
The collision claimed the life of the Ford Ranger’s driver at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed. The driver of the Ram 1500 sustained minor injuries. Details about the Ford F-150’s driver were initially unclear, as the individual reportedly fled the crash site.
Authorities later located the Ford F-150 driver and took them into custody, facing charges of DUI and hit-and-run. Investigators are appealing for additional information from witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact the California Highway Patrol.
