Fatal Pedestrian Incident on Interstate 5 by Arena Boulevard in Sacramento County

Sacramento County, CA (May 5, 2024) – A pedestrian was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Interstate 5 near Arena Boulevard in Sacramento County on Saturday, May 4. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 56-year-old man was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross the freeway. The pedestrian, who initiated the crossing from the right-hand shoulder, was struck by an oncoming Hyundai.

The force of the impact caused the man to be propelled into the air, subsequently landing in the center divider. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Hyundai’s driver sustained facial lacerations and required hospitalization for medical treatment.
