The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Fruitridge Road, near 88th Street. Jose Valladolid Ramirez, identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, was the cyclist who tragically lost his life at the scene due to injuries sustained in the incident.

Initial reports from the authorities indicate that the driver who struck Ramirez was likely under the influence of drugs.
