The collision occurred on Sunday, April 14, along Dos Rios Street in Sacramento, a harrowing event in which the vehicle veered off the road between North B and D streets, east of the city’s railyards. After jumping the curb and impacting the tent-dwelling victims, the SUV continued its destructive path, careening through a metal gate and a speed limit sign before fleeing the scene.
