71-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Pickup Truck on Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – A tragic incident unfolded in the south Sacramento area on Thursday night, June 24, 2024, when a 71-year-old Sacramento man was killed in a motorcycle accident. The incident occurred on Stockton Boulevard near 16th Avenue, in the vicinity of the Colonial Heights neighborhood.

The collision was reported to authorities at approximately 10:45 PM in the southbound lanes. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the victim was operating a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the time of the crash. The motorcycle rider collided with a 1999 pickup truck, which was executing a left turn onto northbound Stockton Boulevard.

The pickup truck, driven by a 41-year-old Sacramento local, had halted at the intersection of 16th Avenue before the incident. Following a pause, the driver commenced the turn, subsequently coming into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The crash resulted in the motorcycle obstructing one of the lanes and left the elderly rider fatally injured at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was present when law enforcement arrived and was cooperative with the investigation. The individual reported no injuries, and there were no passengers in the truck at the time of the accident.
