Car accident in Sacramento

In Elk Grove, a tragic incident unfolded when a man succumbed to injuries from a crash involving a stolen vehicle driven by a 13-year-old, local authorities confirmed. The fatal event occurred on Monday at approximately 9:15 p.m. when the stolen car, involved in a high-speed pursuit by Elk Grove police, collided with the man’s car at the intersection of Laguna and Franklin boulevards.

The sequence of events started with the theft of a Toyota Sienna, as reported to the police near Grant Line Road and Highway 99. The Elk Grove Police Department dispatched officers who located the stolen minivan in proximity to Elk Grove Boulevard and Highway 99, where they attempted to initiate a traffic stop. In a flagrant disregard for the law, the underage driver failed to yield and led the police on a chase, officials stated.

The pursuit escalated when the juvenile driver maneuvered the vehicle into a residential area, briefly disappearing from officer’s sight. The stolen minivan reemerged onto Laguna Boulevard traveling westbound, ultimately crashing into a Nissan Rogue. The Rogue’s driver, in the process of making a northbound turn onto Franklin Boulevard, was catastrophically struck, resulting in the vehicle being overturned.
