Woman Injured Following Street Takeover Spin-Out Incident in San Pedro

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 22, 2024) – A violent car crash occurred during a street takeover near San Pedro Street and Manchester Avenue resulting in serious injuries to a female bystander. The Los Angeles Police Department reports that on Saturday night, a red Infiniti G37 was involved in the incident and fled the scene after swerving and hitting several spectators.

Emergency responders arrived to find an unconscious woman with a head injury on the pavement along with another female victim who had sustained injuries of undisclosed severity. Paramedics provided immediate medical attention at the scene.

The identities of the victims and the driver involved have not been established. The LAPD’s South Traffic Division is currently seeking information from witnesses and can be contacted at 424-298-7898. Additionally, the City of Los Angeles is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to the location and arrest of the fleeing driver.

Authorities remind the public of the inherently dangerous nature of street takeovers that involve high-speed vehicle maneuvers and often result in loss of control, injuries, and fatalities. The public is advised to refrain from participating in such activities for their safety.
