A violent automobile incident in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles resulted in three hospitalizations on Sunday. The collision, which involved two patrol officers and a civilian motorist, took place just before 6 pm at the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Gramercy Place.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers were initially responding to an emergency call regarding a man armed with a knife at Adams Boulevard and Saint James Place. A “help call” was issued to provide immediate response to the scene for the apprehension of the armed individual.
While racing to the location, the patrol unit, with lights and sirens engaged, was involved in a crash with the civilian vehicle at Jefferson Park. The male driver of the vehicle sustained critical injuries and was transported to a medical facility. His current condition has not been disclosed.
