Tram Accident at LA Theme Park Injures 15 Visitors

In an incident at Universal Studios Hollywood, more than a dozen individuals sustained injuries after a tour tram collided with a railing. The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, at the entertainment complex located in Universal City, roughly 16 kilometers northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Emergency services from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the scene following the collision. Responders from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) also attended to assist with the aftermath of the mishap.

According to reports from the CHP, the accident happened as the tram was making a turn, causing the last car to strike a metal guardrail. This impact resulted in the car tilting and ejecting several passengers. The incident prompted an immediate response to assess the situation and render aid to the injured.

Medical personnel evaluated the scene and determined that fifteen people required hospitalization due to their injuries. Although classified as mostly minor, there were some moderate injuries reported by the CHP; however, specific details regarding the number of moderate injuries were not disclosed.

Following the accident, Universal Studios Hollywood issued an official statement on Sunday afternoon indicating that tram tours have recommenced with an altered route to ensure guest safety. The company expressed its concern for those affected by the event and reiterated the importance of safety for its guests. Universal Studios Hollywood is collaborating with the CHP as part of the ongoing investigation.
