Tragic Collision Results in Fatality in Malibu
A fatal traffic incident claimed the life of an individual on Wednesday evening in Malibu, California. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle lost control and plummeted over a cliffside at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road. This information was provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The car descended about 150 feet from the roadway, crashing into a heavily wooded area and came to rest on its side. Rescue teams responded to the scene, but the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, did not survive the impact. The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed as of the latest reports.
Law enforcement from the Lost Hills Sheriff Station indicated that a section of Malibu Canyon Road was temporarily closed for both recovery efforts and preliminary investigations. Traffic flow was disrupted from Piuma to Civic Center Way as a result of the ongoing operations. The site was under the jurisdiction of the California Highway Patrol’s West Valley division while support was provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department including deputies and members of the Malibu Search and Rescue Team (Malibu SAR).
