Seven Students Injured in Accident Near La Habra High School

LA HABRA, CA – A traffic accident involving a school bus near Sonora High School in La Habra resulted in eight injuries on Wednesday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reports that the incident occurred at the intersection of N. Palm Street and E. La Habra Boulevard around 1:40 p.m.

The collision involved two cars, and the impact caused one of the cars to careen onto the sidewalk where several students were standing. La Habra Police Department officials indicated the vehicle struck the group of students.

All victims, which included seven students and one driver, were transported to local hospitals. The injuries are reported to be minor. Authorities have stated that alcohol impairment is not suspected in the crash, but preliminary investigations suggest that one of the drivers might have run a red light, leading to the collision.

Responder teams were seen administering medical care to the injured students on site, as captured in video footage from the scene.
