Serious Multi-Vehicle Collision Reported on Interstate 710 in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA – On the morning of June 13, 2024, a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi truck, a white sedan, and a pickup truck occurred on Interstate 710 in Long Beach, resulting in injuries and traffic disruption.

The incident took place at approximately 9:59 a.m. on the busy freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Details regarding the cause of the collision have yet to be released, but preliminary reports indicate that the sedan veered out of control and impacted the semi truck. The aftermath of the crash led to congestion as emergency services arrived on the scene.

There was a chaotic scene as four juveniles were seen exiting the white sedan and fleeing on foot down the right side of the highway, moving against the flow of traffic. Their involvement and reasons for fleeing remain part of the ongoing investigation.

First responders, including paramedics and tow services, were quick to reach the crash site. Injured parties were attended to at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed. A tow truck was also called to clear the damaged vehicles and facilitate the restoration of normal traffic conditions.
