LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 21, 2024) – A pedestrian died following a vehicular collision early on Tuesday morning at the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and South Broadway near Gardena in South Los Angeles.
The incident was reported at approximately 4:16 a.m. and prompted a swift response from local law enforcement, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At the scene, just east of the Harbor (110) Freeway, authorities found a pedestrian who had suffered critical injuries during the crash. Despite efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the location of the accident. Details regarding the victim’s identity, including age and gender, have been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
As the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department joined the investigation, officers worked to piece together the sequence of events leading to the tragic outcome. Rosecrans Avenue was subsequently closed in both directions to facilitate an in-depth examination of the crash site.
