Motorcycle Collision on 134 Freeway near Cahuenga Blvd in Toluca Lake Draws Attention

TOLUCA LAKE, Calif. — On the morning of April 10, 2024, a serious collision involving multiple vehicles occurred on the westbound 134 Freeway at Cahuenga Boulevard near Toluca Lake, leaving a motorcycle rider injured.

At approximately 7:08 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to reports of an accident on the freeway. A white armored truck is said to have collided with a yellow motorcycle, causing the rider to be ejected onto the road. Subsequently, the motorcyclist was found lying motionless in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane.

A black pickup truck, witnessing the event, stopped behind the injured rider to shield them from oncoming traffic, offering a degree of protection until emergency services arrived. Initial reports indicate that up to three additional vehicles may have either been involved in the incident or stopped in the aftermath of the crash.

Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to attend to the injured rider. However, details regarding the extent of the motorcyclist’s injuries have not been disclosed to the public.

The CHP is actively investigating the incident to determine the cause and the responsible parties. As per standard procedure with such accidents, they will examine all factors that could have played a part, such as mechanical failures, road conditions, and driver error.
