Injuries Reported in I-5 Collision South of Newhall Ranch Road in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (May 3, 2024) – A serious car accident on the northbound Interstate 5, just south of Newhall Ranch Rd, resulted in the hospitalization of two individuals last Thursday. The collision occurred at approximately 12:43 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Emergency responders arrived on the scene within minutes.

Geovanni Sanchez, a representative for the Fire Department, confirmed that the incident did not result in any individuals being trapped inside the involved vehicles. The two injured parties were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with conditions that have not been disclosed to the public. The California Highway Patrol, with Officer A. de los Reyes on the record, indicated that the accident involved a total of two vehicles.

The circumstances surrounding the cause of the incident are currently the subject of an ongoing investigation by authorities. As law enforcement officials and first responders worked the scene, traffic was impacted in the area around the crash site. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

Interstate collisions, particularly on busy routes such as Interstate 5, can lead to significant traffic disruptions and, more importantly, severe injuries or even fatalities.
