House Fire on West 82nd Street in Los Angeles Causes Injuries

Los Angeles, CA (April 14, 2024) – A residential blaze on Saturday night led to one woman injured and considerable damage to an abandoned house on W. 82nd St. Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department promptly responded to the incident, containing the fire within minutes of arrival.

The fire outbreak, reported at approximately 9:28 p.m., was battled by approximately 40 firefighters who successfully extinguished the flames by 9:45 p.m. The swift action by the fire department units prevented the spread of the fire beyond the second floor where it originated.

Upon the firefighters’ arrival, an injured woman was discovered outside the premises. She was immediately attended to by paramedics and transported to a local hospital. The current status of her condition has not been released. Investigations to ascertain if any other individuals were present within the house at the time of the fire are ongoing, however initial reports indicate the house was uninhabited.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what may have sparked the inferno in the seemingly vacant structure. Local officials are urging anyone with information regarding the fire to come forward and aid in the ongoing inquiry.
