Fatal Rollover Accident Claims a Life in South Los Angeles

Car accident in Los Angeles

A fatal traffic collision in the South Los Angeles area claimed the life of a man following a high-speed car chase that led to a rollover crash.

The incident occurred late Tuesday evening when Los Angeles Police Department officers were dispatched to West Vernon Avenue. Upon arrival at around 10:35 p.m., they discovered an overturned vehicle on the 1100 block. Inside was the severely injured man, later identified as Tyrone Lindqvist, 44, from Garden Grove.

Initial reports by the police detailed that two vehicles—a 2014 Honda Accord and a 2016 Nissan Versa—were moving eastbound on the avenue at significant speed. The driver of the Versa lost control, resulting in the vehicle striking a telephone pole and subsequently rolling over. Meanwhile, the Accord was involved in collisions with several other vehicles during the incident.

Tragically, Lindqvist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The 21-year-old female driver of the Honda Accord, along with two passengers, were also injured as a result of the multi-car collision and have been taken to hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
