Fatal Hit-and-Run Claims Pedestrian’s Life on Western Avenue in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (April 28, 2024) – A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning when a 65-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles. The collision took place on Western Avenue, near Washington Boulevard and slightly north of the Santa Monica Freeway, at approximately 1:50 AM. The man was attempting to cross the street outside of a designated crosswalk when he was hit by a black pickup truck heading south. Investigators believe a second vehicle might have been involved in the incident, as it followed the same southbound direction on Western Avenue. Both vehicles involved fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance or information. Paramedics pronounced the man dead upon their arrival. The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation and is requesting that any witnesses or individuals with information come forward.
