Fatal Hit-and-Run Claims Life of Elderly Woman in Southern California

Car accident in Los Angeles

In a devastating turn of events, a woman in her 80s lost her life, and another in her 90s was critically injured in a hit-and-run collision in the University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Officials reported that the incident occurred near the corner of West Adams Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue around 1:20 p.m. Thursday.

Responding officers from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived shortly after the incident was reported. Preliminary investigations suggest that as the suspect was reversing out of a driveway onto the street, they struck the two elderly Hispanic women. The assailant subsequently fled the scene heading east on West 25th Street.

Local news teams, including Sky5, provided aerial footage of the post-accident scene, which showed the area sectioned off by police tape with multiple cruisers present. A canopy had been erected over the scene where one of the victims’ body lay covered, having succumbed to her injuries.
