LOS ANGELES, CA (June 5, 2024) – In Hollywood, a serious hit-and-run incident occurred on the evening of June 5th, where an 84-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a car at the intersection of Cole Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard.
Local authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 6:35 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, police found that the victim had sustained severe injuries following the collision with a black Pontiac, model years 2004-2010. According to reports, the driver responsible for the incident had fled the location prior to the officers’ arrival.
Responding paramedics quickly administered aid to the injured woman and transported her to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. As of now, the woman’s name has not been released to the public. Law enforcement officials and the Los Angeles Fire Department worked together to clear the accident site and conduct initial assessments of the event.
The search for the hit-and-run driver is ongoing, with police seeking a black Pontiac with distinct features, including rear-tinted windows and the absence of a front license plate. In an effort to expedite the capture of the suspect, the city of Los Angeles has announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for the collision.
